Every year new technologies and gadgets are being introduced for the IT companies to increase productivity and provide their employees with easy access to resources.
Most recent of the technology innovations, that is going to storm the IT world in 2012 is Cloud computing. Although most of the bigger players in IT industry have built cloud services to reduce cost on equipment and provide on-demand access to their resources, Cloud is yet to be embraced by many SMBs and even some large enterprises.
It is expected that 2012 will mark the year for all IT companies to implement cloud computing for their internal as well as business requirements.
Cloud computing is the implementation of concept called “Virtualization” for effective use of hardware resources in turn reducing costs and improving overall performance. IT companies can use Virtualization to publish their resources to be accessed by employees at the convenience of their home or cafe. This helps employees to gain access their corporate resources to accomplish time sensitive tasks that would other wise require physical presence in the office.
The implementation of cloud was initially considered as a security threat to the company. However, this has changed with numerous security mechanisms that control access to the resources on the Cloud at various levels. The fact, that major players like Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, Amazon etc., have already implemented cloud proves that cloud is the safest and most cost effective bet for every business.
